ZEIT IM BILD
Animation, Germany 1991, 1 min
Super-8, 4:3, colour, silent
idea, animation, camera: Bernd Lützeler
This was my first ever experience with the moving image, my first work with Super-8 and my last with paint. I was studying in the first semester of my Visual Communication degree and the exercise was to include the dimension of time in an image. That's how the title came up. The general idea was to start with a white canvas and end on a white canvas again. All the painting in between was improvised and often neither intended nor satisfactory. In the final presentation the film was projected projected on the white canvas that was the result of the improvised painting.
